What Is Magick?
Divine Magick Never Left: It Was Hidden and Now Rises Once Again
This is a question that many philosophers, wisdom keepers, witches (did you know that the word “witch” means a healer, sage, and seer, more on the topic about witches will be coming), wayshowers, and seekers of truth, etc. have answered in their own way for eons now. And there is a common thread that weaves through it all.
Some answers to this question fully resonate with me, and some don’t. I’ve read many ancient scrolls, texts, tablets, and books, and it’s essential to turn on the Inner Guidance System (aka Intuition) as we must build the truth as we go.
Discovering and awakening magick in my life has been about awakening the truth within me. It has also been about researching and consuming many writings to get to a core understanding, or an INNERstanding, of the foundation around magick.
(Innerstanding is a term I found that an author named Pao Chang uses, and I love that!)
A Little Background
My unique experiences and perspective around this topic come from the wisdom of the Divine Spirit within. The Visions FROM the Divine Spirit within woke me up in many profound ways! From visions to dreamtime learning sessions, I’ve been able to soak up wisdom from the many other timelines to begin to piece together what I would call “magick” and getting more into the core truths around the Divine Magick that was ever-present in a “time before.”
Having many dreams and visions in meditations is where I was shown what it means to be a Seer or an Oracle. Being able to stand firm in that knowing and stepping into that “role,” for lack of a better term, took peering into myself to turn on the trust factor. But also, it has been about looking at the significant wisdom drops from great sages and seers of the olde. These two things helped me to confirm and validate the truths that have come through. Sometimes, we need confirmation or some validation of what we deeply know to be true. That’s only because I had to undergo (as many of us do) massive deprogramming from when we’re kids and told to look outward to someone else for the answers, rather than being taught to trust our unique viewpoints and innate wisdom.
I share this because when getting into many topics and peering into truth versus falsities, there’s a need for alignment and discernment around what is and isn’t BS. I was that little indigo kid that no one could lie to. I will admit that my Inner Knowing was solid and probably quite annoying for many around me. My parents couldn’t even get me to believe in Santa! They tried taking bells and running around our home outside the window to make me think Santa was on the roof, and I was still a hard no on that one. I’m sure that was very annoying for them! 😛
Church and religion? In Sunday school, I criticized the teacher’s story about Noah’s Ark and began to question too much. They didn’t like that either.
So, I was that kid… truly an indigo on all layers and levels. I have spoken/seen my Higher Self (as we call this consciousness that streams in) since I was a wee lass, and that beautiful woman came to me over and over, has been there to protect me, and provided me with wisdom through symbols, dreamtime visions, and little clues or hints that gets dropped in the most subtle of ways. She holds a profound protector energy and power, and now I know is of the Lioness of God Lineage (as I would say, it’s also been written as the Lioness of God through the Hebrew name Ari-el). This comes with a connection to the Mer-Lion Lineage, which has been a lineage of magick. I only mention these because maybe you are of this lineage, too?! It’s great to connect with others who share the same Soul-Conscoiusness!
Knowing this has guided me to feel oh-so-fierce about protecting nature, Earth, and humanity (a Guardian Consciousness, we could say) and speaking back the essence of what true magick means so that more and more can remember with me…
It Takes Deprogramming from the False
Deprogramming from the many distortions, lies, manipulations, etc., that have taken place in this realm allows us to be more open so that we can allow more of the Organic and Real Magick to come through us.
When we remember the profound meaning behind sound (or vibration and frequencies) and the spoken word, we are more careful in analyzing what comes into our field of awareness and in what we say. Our words have the power to create and destroy energy. In fact, the first sense that we develop in the womb is the inner ear, and I have learned that there are three times as many connections from the ear to the brain as there are from the eyes to the brain. WOW. That means HEARING is a key sense.
When more of us humans deprogram from the belief that ‘humans are weak and small’ and begin to realize the power of the Divine Spirit within us (which many can have their own interpretations thereof), you can imagine how much the world will change even faster!
Seeing more into the Organic Magick essence can begin with a simple act: cleaning up our thoughts to align more with our emotions, which should match or mirror our intentions. We can then align the words we speak with the actions we take (more on this below).
Truth bomb: If we live in fear-based cycles of emotions and negativity, the universe will bring us more of that.
Being aware that the LOW frequencies of greed, lust, materialism, envy/jealousy, etc., are highly negative emotions. If the universe “hears” you saying these things repeatedly based on your thoughts and intentions, the way this magick works is that it will give you more of that thing.
Love begets love.
Fear begets fear.
This also applies to the seven Divine Laws (or Natural or Universal Laws), which I’ll discuss in later articles. For now, I feel an initial step is to remember and Know-Trust that we are far more powerful than the “powers that be” have made us feel for the many thousands upon thousands of years!
There are layers of the Organic and Divine Love Magick, and one layer is related to emotion because emotion often drives our thoughts and intentions. As many of us have seen, thinking “positive vibes only” will NOT get us to where we need to go. However, if we tap into the primordial essence of magick by remembering that we can feel emotions and then TRANSMUTE them, then we recognize that we are truly alchemists on every layer! I feel it is very important to remember this.
Changing one emotional state into another is a transmutation of energies. The way to achieve harmony is to restore more neutrality. We can peer into all layers of emotion but can also align back to the center, which is where the state of calm exists.
The distorted imagery we see in movies and such around what “magic” is has led us away from remembering the true beauty of what magick meant originally before it was stolen and distorted into the form of “black magick,” or, as I call it, low or evil magick that we see proliferating the televisions/shows/movies, pop music, etc.
When we deprogram from the wrongful ideas that magick is inherently negative, harmful, or evil or that the symbology we find in nature is wrong or evil, we can reclaim more of our power. For example, fearing 666 is nonsense, but many people do. The “powers that be” have hidden the truths about these topics and have done a great job of keeping humanity unable to recognize their power and held into a low frequency of fear (and the related low consciousness vibrations).
The Beauty of True Divine-Love (or High) Magick
From my lens, I see that the Organic and Divine Magick is found in the beauty of nature. The essence of life that swells and sparkles in beautiful streams of water or the seas. It’s found in your friend's or loved one's eyes. The essence of magick looks back at you when you look in the mirror (YOU!). Magick is looking back at you when you peer into your furbaby’s or children’s eyes.
Magick, the real and organic kind, lives in everything that is TRULY ALIVE. The living breath that pulses through the Earth and through all things that are alive (trees, water, etc.). Love via waves of light is sent in from Sol, our Sun. These are the other layers of magick in which I am speaking to here. The Creator or GodSource (you may say something other than that) is in the purest form Divine Love, which is magick! Magick is also the Divine Spirit within us!
Magick is not something that only a select special few can access and utilize, though that is what happened. The truly Divine Magick felt like it disappeared from our realm, but the truth is, it was hidden behind lies and manipulations. It’s like a layer of falsity was laid on top of the Organic and Real. Humanity’s gifts have been suppressed, and what was pushed into our faces and this Earth is what many call “black magick.”
I would rather call that harmful form of magick as evil or low as I want to make the separation from the word dark (darkness is not scary, bad, evil or any of those words). Evil or low magick is a type of magick with one intention: it is founded upon cruelty that harms the living, natural world, and organic life.
I do not speak of low or evil magick here in “Awakening Magick;” however, I do know that it’s vital that we become very aware of its existence. It is absolutely real and has caused more damage than I can write about (and I will write about it to bring it up for the sake of awareness).
Like all tools and technologies, magick can be wielded for positive (for the light or of the High Divine Source), or it can be used to harm (often what we call evil, satan, etc., as many words have been used). A simple way to put this is that genuine magick is highly frequency and has Love at its very core, while low magick causes harm with fear at its core.
The famous quote by Arthur C. Clarke works here perfectly:
"Any sufficiently advanced technology is indistinguishable from magic.”
Core Foundations of Magick
Some of the basic factors when thinking about “doing magick” relate back to what I mentioned previously: emotions, thoughts and intentions, the strength of our will, and the words we speak and the actions we take. These are all core foundational aspects of magick, for it is E-MOTION (energy in motion) that formulates our intentions, and through the use of our will, we use that energy to create or change matter in some way.
I spell magick purposefully with a ‘k’ and will explain that in a moment. Magick is a gift, and it was an innate part of being here in this realm even and was part of "everythingness” when we entered the experience as a human. While the magick on many levels has been lost, the reality of its existence and the energies that supported it in an organic and beautiful way is rising once again as we “birth” into a new octave (many call this octave shift a “paradigm” shift).
While I can’t answer what all universes have, I do know what I’ve seen and experience, and I also know that the deity that has become known as Earth (but is really in a Trinity Form we’ve coined as Earth-Tara-Gaia) is quite a unique Planetary Being gem due to what has occurred here and in many timelines. Our Sun, or Sol (also called Ra at one point in the stories of the olde), brightens our daily path and is also a beautiful gems that has been working to bring about much change. (I say the word diety because the Sun and our planet Earth, or Gaia, are sentient and aware beings).
It’s vital to remember how magickal this Living Planet is, how amazing our Sun is, and then the fact of all the life that stares us back in the face when we rise each morning is magick!
When I say “magick,” I speak of real Organic Magick, which is what I like so say is the Divine High-Love Magick. This is not the kind of “magic” that people do on stages in Las Vegas or street corners. That is the biggest differentiator that I’d like to make and why I use the “k” and don’t just say or write the word magic. (I will admit that some of the “stage magic” that people do does use the power of the mind, which is undoubtedly a part of magick at its core).
The root of the word “magic” when we dig into eytomology:
*magh- Proto-Indo-European root meaning "to be able, have power." Sanskrit mahan "great;" Greek mēkhanē "device, means," mekhos, makhos "means, instrument;” and also from Greek magike, feminine of magikos "magical," from magos "one of the members of the learned and priestly class," and from Old Persian magush "magician. Then as you move through time to late 14c., magike, "art of influencing or predicting events and producing marvels using hidden natural forces."
So, the word magic comes from root meanings around “being able to or has power,” being an “instrument” or “magical,” which moves into “magician” and working with “natural forces.”
This aspect of working with the natural forces is an important note. At one point, humans lived in harmony with the Living Natural World, and through the means of using our innate ‘human technology’ were able to move Earth’s elements and work with Elemental Beings as part of the magick that was innate to this world.
Magick is not sparkly light beams that come from our fingertips or eyeballs, at least not not in the way the entertainment industry shows it in movies, etc. But just because we cannot see light beams, it doesn’t mean they don’t exist!
We can transmute energy through movement, our thoughts, actions we take and words we speak, and there are many tools for becoming clear channels and using magick for the highest good of all living beings. As part of this, knowing and celebrating our Divine Spirit is imperative, at least from my viewpoint.
This innate natural “human magick” can occur when we align around Divine Love and use our thoughts, intentions (emotions), and vibrations (sound and frequency) and directing our will to create more love in this realm. The more that humans align to this, the more that the faster that these energies will rise within us and within all things. This, from my lens, is the Holy Mother and part of the Divine Feminine Energy that rises…
Sound is also spoken word as much as it is song. Sounds create words and words are created through SPELLING. Therefore, we create MAGICK SPELLS every time we speak and use words! Hence, why spelling was given its name as it is based on literally creating spells…
This is how we were meant to create within our reality. Creating spells that help us serve as the bridges between GodSource and Earth, being the bridges and co-creators to build amazing and learned experiences here.
We have the power to connect to the Unity Consciousness once again, which has been called Christ (Christic or Buddhist consciousness) and is available to all. As you know if you’re reading this, the organic, living natural world (including humanity) and all universal levels are connected via energy. As above, so below.
“In the beginning, was the word. And God said, let there be light.”
Most people are familiar with this saying from the Bible, and similar verbiage can be traced to many religions worldwide. However, some of the Bible's pieces have been taken and distorted, so it’s essential to discern the layers of energy behind words.
Christian traditions have stated that God “spoke the word” (which actually meant SOUND) and brought the world into existence; however, this concept has been taught over eons in different traditions, way before the invention of what was termed Christianity.
For example, in Egypt, they wrote about the the god that was called Ptah, known as a god of technology (aka god of magick), went into its own heart and felt the world, then spoke it into existence.
Once again, we see the aspects of feeling through emotion and then the act of sound to create. Insight from many ancient texts often places sound at the core of creation (of the entire Universe!). Initially, words were not spoken, but sounds were felt via vibrations in the body, and telepathy was also used to communicate. Vibration is frequency, and sound happens when it is brought into the audible range so we can hear it.
This is why sound and vibration must be included in the conversation when learning what the foundations of magick are. All things in the Universe around us are constructed using mathematics, sacred geometry, and music. This is why our Universe is called a Harmonic Universe and where the word “HUman” even comes from (at least this is from my Inner Knowing). The ‘H’ stands for Harmonic, and ‘U’ stands for Universe.
Did you know plants can hear us and play music when we have a suitable device so that we can hear it? (If you don’t have one yet, check out the Plantwave; it’s amazing!).
Did you know that you can hear nature by tuning in to the right frequency when we use our “human tech,” such as intuition, clairaudience, clairvoyance, etc.? We can hear beyond this dimension and beyond the core senses. We can talk to and feel trees, we can listen to the wind, etc. These are powerful ways to connect and remember that EVERYTHING communicates on every layer and level both within us and with-out us.
As many of you already know, one of the sounds that vibrated out and could be felt (within the body) is the sound of Om or Aum. It has subtle and robust levels of vibration and consciousness held within it. It’s not just a "silly thing" to do in yoga while wearing yoga pants, but it’s WAY deeper and more profound.
When we speak Aum (or Om), its “hum” calms the mind, body, and spirit. It’s a Sanskrit word, a mystical symbol in Hinduism, Buddhism, and Jainism, and an incantation for meditations and mantras (or what many call prayers).
It’s how we use these things to create WORLDS! Essentially, sound, which has a frequency and vibration, is an expression of a thought that allows us to manifest material things into existence.
Your THOUGHTS form with INTENTION and an EMOTION behind it. These are then brought into SOUNDS as a SPOKEN WORD (or words). We use words because, unlike the ancients, we have lost the ability to FEEL with our hearts in the ways that they could. There will be more on this to come, but we have an opportunity to bring this to life again within us all because the HEART is an essential foundation for Divine Love Magick.
You then take action based on your thoughts and words. This process allows each of us to CREATE OUR OWN REALITIES in some way on this Earth and within this Universe.
Here’s a formula I came up with:
So, a definition of “innate human magick” is thought, intention-emotion, vibration (sound and frequency), and using our will to take actions. We have the power to create a “living paradise” or a “living hell,” and we have an effect upon others, and they also affect us back.
All beings, be it flora, fauna, Earth, the Sun, or the cosmos, are ALL connected at the subatomic level, which equates to what we’ve called the Quantum Level. There is NO distinction of separation whatsoever.
We can leverage this Knowing, and in this time of rising magick, through the Divine and Sacred Energies coming back ‘online’ (not the internet, but turning back on is what that word means) and seek to bring in more harmony.
Being in alignment means this: aligning our thoughts to our emotions, these drive our intentions, and then aligning our words to this all, and then aligning the actions that we take. All things in total alignment puts the power in our innate ability to do the magick-ing.
Creating through our innate magick via conscious awareness allows us to create that which we desire. We must then choose WHAT we desire and through this power that we hold, we can create. So, do we want to create more frequencies of love or more fear? Therein lies a fundamental choice.
There are many other layers that I could get into, but for now, these I feel are the core foundations of how all of us humans can begin to use our innate gift of being able to create magick more and more..
I do feel that celebrating and getting to know the profundity of our Divine Spirit within is just one more way to get back in touch with the Organick and Divine-Love Magick once again.
