The Winter Solstice: Sophia's Sacred Fire of Transformation and Goddess Brighid
Returning to the Celebration of the Wheel of the Year
Happy Winter Solstice…
For those of us in the Northern Hemisphere, we have come into the time of Yule and the Winter Solstice. This time holds within it the potency of ancient knowledge, invoking the primal wisdom of venerating the cyclical turning of the Wheel of the Year.
Last year this Winter Solstice celebration resonated with great potency, and I wrote about this powerful time last year on our Make Your Mark Creations site (where my husband and I craft wheel of the year decor, ritual candles for healing and empowerment, woodburn art, and more), you can see that article here.
Last Winter Solstice marked a decade since the momentous occasion of 12-21-2012 when the Earth commenced its “ending” of an old and awakening into the Original (or Primordial) New (that isn’t new as much as it is returning to Origin). And all is part of a larger transcendence into a new era and a massive paradigm shift of consciousness… a GALACTIC SHIFT!
Winter Solstice and the Sacred Fire of Brighid
The Eve of Winter Solstice, which is 12-21 as we move into 12-22 in the Northern Hemisphere (with 12-22 being the formal Winter Solstice Day), is a magnificent evening to release into the Sacred Fire of Brighid, holding the essence of Christos-Sophia’s Fire of Transformation. Of course, doing this on 12-22 can also suffice but igniting the Fire on the Eve brings in potent workings and energies…
The name Brighid is spelled many ways— you’ll see Brighit or Brigit (and others), and of course, the man-made churches turned these Beings into so-called “saints” as well, so we can follow the pathway through ancient texts and such if we know what to look for.
But the power lies in our remembering and this is the wisdom held within the DNA. Brighid is a name that means"exalted one” and is the Goddess of healing, poetry, fire, smithcraft, and fertility in Druid-Celtic writings, representing three distinct aspects: the healer, the poet, and the smith. [The smith or smithcraft is a word that means "handicrafts, practitioner of skilled manual arts."]
The Goddess Brighid, Druids, and Sacred Lands of the Albion
The primordial lands of Albion are the regions that we now call Britain, or the UK, and include Scotland, Ireland, France, Belgium, Germany, etc. for that entire region is the Heart of the World.
Brighid represents justice and authority, and Brighid is also a warrior-maiden. The Sacred and Perpetual Fire that burned in homage to Brighid is a symbol of Sophia (Sophia as the Being Who Embodies Wisdom through the essence of the Cosmic Mother and Divine Feminine Sacred Energy). Through Brighid, this Sacred Fire burns, and at the core, this is also about the lineage of the Druids; a lineage of mystical and magickal beings that were once thriving in our realm (until evil factions started false religions and this corruption hijacked this realm).
I have connected this lineage of Druid into the lineage we know as Merlin (or MerLion). I have another article/video on that as well here.
The truth is that Druids and pagans lived in actual harmony with the Earth and all things, and we cannot confuse this lineage with what you read online or in old books written by men, and those who held positions within the violent religions that twisted the truth through their fabricated lies and manipulations about the pagans, Druids, etc. This is why remembering the truth in our DNA is the most vital aspect of bringing truth back into this realm, and there are many of us, like me, who are here doing just that. We’re bringing this back into this realm reclaiming the truth and what things really mean.
The bansidhe (a Gaelic word meaning banshee, meaning a"woman of the fairy mound" or "fairy woman") is a female spirit in Irish/Celtic folklore) and filidh (a Gaelic word meaning an ancient rank of a poet who practiced an elaborate oral tradition and was known for their mysticism), takes us further into the Druidic and Sophianic Wisdom, for these were the Women of the Faerie Hills and Seer-Poets.
These mystical sisterhoods and brotherhoods preserved the poetic function of the Goddess Brighid. Through prophetic storytelling and the Sacred Fire of Transformation fire-keeping, kept alive the memory of Brighid and the ancient Wisdom of the Christos-Sophia and are connected to REAL Goddess Beings that exist in other realms that manifest through human form via sending their consciousness through, and also who had existed in this realm at one time in their form.
Call on the Sacred Fire of Brighid, and
Christos-Sophia’s Fire of Transformation
It’s time for us all to let go of all that no longer serves us, as the Sun makes its way back. On the eve of Winter Solstice, our ancestors traditionally brought the Yule Log into their homes and began to burn it in their hearth-fires, to release the past year and welcome the rebirth of the Sun. But, this was also to give homage to Sophia through Goddess Brighid.
THE WHISPERS OF BRIGHID
I have poetic words that came through me here for you from Goddess Brighid and a ceremony to let go of that which does not serve you. May this assist you in your Winter Solstice ceremony and magick…
Call on Brighid to help you stoke your inner fire, the Sophia’s Sacred Fire of Transformation within you. If you can be around an actual fire, this is the time that you can gather all the aspects of who you WERE and let them go into the fire to burn. Let go of what was so that NEW can come in!
Poem:
Darkness holds all colors for it contains all rays of light.
As the darkness commences on this longest night,
Remember all that is held within it,
For your Sacred Heart knows the truth and with this, you must sit.
Tap into the wisdom that you hold,
Allow Sophia’s Sacred Fire of Transformation to whisper actions and words that will help you to become bold.
Ancient Tribes of Brothers and Sisters keep the Primordial Fire’s memory alive,
And you can join them by focusing your energy within your Lower Cauldron accessing your power to thrive.
Be guided back to your own Wisdom Within, back to truth and justice, and to do so, let go of all that doesn’t serve you.
Now stoke your Inner Fire to Remember who you truly are, letting go of what was and igniting all that is True.
For this next portion, write down all of the things you’re letting go of and then read this below out loud or to yourself (you can read this 3 times for extra potency). Mentioned below is your Lower Cauldron, this is the lower 3 chakras and this is the term used in ancient workings of the Druid lineage (this region contains your power, potency, and source of creativity to make bold transformations happen from within!).
“I stoke my Inner Fire and call on Goddess Brighid. Ignite my remembering of who I truly am this Winter Solstice. To bring all of this new energy in and to awaken my DNA, I let go of [insert all things that you’re letting go of and say each one].
I stoke the Fire of Transformation within my Lower Cauldron in remembrance of my primordial brothers and sisters who were the fire keepers and kept the Sacred Fire alive in the honor of the Wisdom of Sophia. Allow the Wisdom of the Sacred Fire to burn within me now and forever more. Thank you, Thank you, Thank you, Goddess Brighid.”
When this is done, throw your list into a fire to close out this ceremony (can burn it within a little cauldron or container if you don’t have access to a bonfire).
It is done!
May Sophia’s Sacred Fire of Transformation through Goddess Brighid provide you with warmth this Winter Solstice.
